Why host on Meet Your Japan

Host on your own schedule

You decide your availability; weekly rules generate the next 90 days of slots automatically.

Payments handled in-platform

Bookings, payment, and settlement all stay inside the platform.

Travelers from around the world

English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese interfaces bring travelers with clear interests.

Trust through review

Profiles and photos go live only after identity review, so travelers book with confidence.

What you need to apply

No particular licence is a precondition. You apply as a Local host and share what you already know well.

Do I need a tour-guide licence?
No particular licence is a precondition. When you register you can choose the Local host role; what we review is whether you can offer the experience safely and clearly, not which certificates you hold. We do ask you to confirm you are permitted to carry out the paid activity you propose.
I have never hosted anyone before. Is that a problem?
No. Try the route and timing before you offer it — check access, rest stops, costs, and the return journey — then open your calendar.
Does my language have to be fluent?
Describe your ability honestly. Translation tools do not replace the language support needed for safety or instruction.
What if you need more information, or the application is not approved?
We tell you the reasons and the next steps available. There are hosting resources before you go live, and you can meet other hosts.
  • Earnings depend on bookings, pricing, fees, and the time and costs involved. Bookings and income are not guaranteed.
  • Hosting means leading or facilitating the experience described in your listing. It does not mean providing accommodation unless that is explicitly offered.
